Kaló Taxídi #9 - Tortured Poets?

This issue was requested by Taylor Swift fans who are Kaló Taxídi subscribers.

Even if you're not a fan, it's hard to deny how much joy she brings to people's lives. I think it's difficult to be ambivalent about her music, because if you like it then you LOVE it and if you don't, then it's best not to talk about it. 

Taylor Swift's fans love her lyrics and she is inspired by poetry - the ancient Greeks, Dylan Thomas, Sylvia Plath - the list goes on. I will leave it to other corners of the internet to debate the merits of her work, and whether or not it constitutes poetry.

However, the discourse around Taylor Swift also made me think about the question of who decides what's worthy of our attention or not, and further than that, what is 'good poetry' and what is 'bad poetry'?
